Yup- the guns laws in Canada certainly "make sense"
It could be argued that if you put a 14" barrel on both guns.... the pistol is still a pistol.... but the rifle is now prohibited (2260 rifle with barrel shortened to less than 18" - even if the LOA was still over 26").... makes even LESS sense....

When you have people writing the laws that know nothing about the subject you are going to get poor laws.
