    Colt Gov't Re-grip

I bought the Purpleheart for this project some time ago, and finally got to it this weekend. A scrollsaw and a bench sander made this project fairly quick, and the inletting on the right grip (for the inside bracket) was done with a router.
I'm really happy with the results. The color is more purple than the pics suggest, and the grain comes through nicely under the 8 coats of satin clear.

    Very nice job!

Did you polish the Colt yourself, or did it come nickel plated? Either way, it looks great!

Thanks, but that's a stock finish on the Colt. It's more of a matte finish, not quite shiny like polished nickle...
