    The QB2078 Updates Continue

I've really liked my QB78 since I first got it, but it needed some "improvements", aside from the usual internal stuff ...
After adding a barrel weight and a Hawke 3-9x40AO scope, I found an oversized bolt from a member of CAF, which is easier on the hand. I replaced the original QB stock with an AR2078 stock from Eric. I found the new stock a bit slippery, and the handgrip wasn't as good a fit in my hand as I'd like (mostly due to the trigger finger groove on these). I elected to strip off the original finish, and reshape the grip area. I also decided to stipple the grip. (I used a small ballpeen hammer and a 3" concrete nail). After I got the pattern I liked, I stained the stock with walnut, followed by 8 coats of satin lacquer. After giving it a week to cure, I reassembled everything and added a Bisely adjustable buttplate. It now fits like a glove. The buttplate also adds a bit of length to the trigger pull (way short on the AR's). Can't wait to try it outside.
    Here are a few pics...

Do you still have the original QB78D stock?

I would love to refinish one, but want to do it to a "extra" stock in case I mess up the job....never refinished any wood before.

    Thanks, Sean-It was semi-intentional. I've always liked the Anschutz's...

pharoah007-I have the original stock (pretty much mint) in storage. I should probably put it up for sale...
