    Quick update.

I contacted the manufacturer and they are more than happy to send out a replacement breech :)

I DID find a way to get a badly misaligned breach like this to seal correctly.

Basically I cut a seal from a piece of SOFT pipe. This pipe had a I.D. that matched the O.D. of the stock (upgraded) breach seal. this made a nice sandwich and sealed things up nicely.

If anyone is interested I can take a few pics.

Here is the Breach seal fix I used.

The inner seal is the normal breach seal, the outer is the soft tubing.

hope this helps someone else with same problem.

Hmmm, interesting- but not in a good way from my perspective. Here's a hypothetical situation; they figure out they may have a bad run of product, so they randomly pull units to strip down to see how prevalent the defect may be and then use the stripped down units for parts- but still ship units of the dubious batch to dealers without warning them of potential problems they are aware of.

This is purely hypothetical in respect to Beeman/Industry Brand- but I have encountered at least two "manufacturers" in the optics industry that have pulled this sort of thing in the past- knowingly ship product prone to manufacturing defect without warning dealers or consumers- I assume hoping no one catches the defect or being "optimistic" that the number of defects is much lower than it is. Note: I dropped one of these manufacturers lines a couple years ago after encountering this on more than one model of their scope, the other I discontinued selling units that displayed an undue likelihood of defects cropping up, only sticking with regularly "solid" product they had.
I'd say I care- but I'd probably be lying...
