    Which Chrony?

Looks like one of my late Christmas gifts will be a chronograph and am needing a lil help with figuring out which to get. Scopes and ammo has three models listed, F1, Alpha. and Beta Master. I am not sure at all which is the best for me, so if anyone has advice please give me some ideas.

F1 does the job fine for me 32 shot strings and then you got to reset.

I'm not sure if its the same with others models but one has the print out.

if you get one buy the light kit from S&A it's the best add on for a Crony.
I just bought one and makes in door shoot all that much fun.

at this time of the year if yuo don't have a light kit you got to wait on week ends to crony
but light kits make a crony alot more fun.

I bought the F1 chrony from Eric about a year ago or so and love it. Granted, it's the basic model with no bells and whistles, but it does have a jack to add a printer later on if I choose to. Works perfectly for my needs - e.g: verifying fps after mods, different pellet weights, etc...And, it's the cheapest too! I've never used any other model chrony before, so can't offer any advice on them.

F1 is the solid choice unless your needing professional level features to give customers or competitors.

Yep-I've had an F1 Master for a few years now. Works beautifully, and having the remote readout is worth the upgrade.

Really, the F1 is fine for most uses. The Alpha has a bit more memory and shot averaging function, the Beta Master more still (and the remote display). The basic function is the same on each.
I'd say I care- but I'd probably be lying...

I have an older F-1. It sees a lot more use than I thought it would. Were I to do it all over again, I'd spring for something that at least calculates averages, and maybe, just maybe, highlights max and min variations. It would save a lot of time sitting at the calculator.

For the 85 bucks I paid for my F-1, I more than got my money's worth out of it.

I discovered that my F-1 operates well under a goose neck with a single 60-W bulb in it. I haven't used my home made lighting kit in years...

I have the basic F1 model from scopes and ammo (best place and price to get it). But, you can buy a stereo mini jack, a momentary push button and some wire and get it to readout of strings, avg, hi-lo, deviation etc, etc. If you want the 'mod' let me know once you get the basic model and I'll post it.
