Questions about the law and PCP airguns.

I have been doing a bit of research into PCP airguns as I am planning on purchasing one in a few months.

I have came across a few that shoot under 500fps IF they are set to "4" or lower (I assume on a 10 point scale)

So these models have a regulator that regulates the air pressure higher/lower in order to get the gun above/below 500fps.

My question is, does one need a PAL just because this gun CAN shoot over 500fps, or is one fine without a pal as long as they keep the gun set below 500fps?

    Thanks all.

If it CAN shoot over 500fps, it needs a PAL.
Can you imagine if cars were regulated the same way? We'd all be driving go-karts until we got a licence...
