I thought so too

Anyone know the size of the o-rings on that lower piston rod?
I'd say I care- but I'd probably be lying...
AFAIK, they are #006 ? .... 1/8" ID x 1/4" OD.... However, they are a very specific material (polyurethane of a specific type?).... I got a pack of six in the mail from Tom & Carol.... If you email her she will just put them in an envelope as the shipping price on their website is ridiculous....

Airsonal: Too many to count!
Got an email back from Tom at shoebox- he wasn't chock full of answers on the lithium grease angle- but did indicate in a roundabout way the reason is to avoid detonation. That being said, I did some investimagating on my own (I have a particular grease I would like to try) and it appears silicone grease has a flash point of around 250*F where lithium grease is around 400*F. Which of course begs the question- why do we use silicone grease in PCP guns and why isn't it detonating with regularity if the grease flashpoint is this low? I guess that it is not a petroleum base...
However, Lithium is a petroleum base product, and other petroleum-based products like a typical wheel bearing grease have a flashpoint of around 430*F (i.e. higher than lithium grease) but no one would consider lubing their PCP rifle with it- would they?
The next idea might be drip-point, lithium is fairly high, silicone not so much, wheel bearing grease I cannot say offhand.
Any idea what I might be missing here?
I'd say I care- but I'd probably be lying...
Likely volatile's
Silicone grease and the SuperLube I use has much lower VOC counts than typical petro greases. Your nose can be a good rough measure. if it stinks it has a high VOC

Home Hardware lists Super Lube grease if you want to try it.
I have seen SuperLube in different places- and think I will try it before using Lithium- the lithium is a filler/thickener in the great and dries out over time- I've never liked it and can't imagine it's the best lube in this application anyways. Went to find some 006 polyester o-rings yesterday at a specialty o-ring shop, and they were apparently overwhelmed with things on a Friday afternoon, so hopefully they can find them along with a pile of other stuff I ordered and get it shipped soon...
I'd say I care- but I'd probably be lying...
yeah, expensive but feel safe using it in hpa for a while now no explosions. Bought it at Homehardware.
For every mile of road, there's two miles of ditch
Don't buy any SuperLube. I'll drop off a tube when I'm up
