Headed for Mt. Fitzgerald this afternoon, got 2 Ruffies on the way up, and 1 large male Blue Grouse at 4700 feet.... Today, however, I remembered the camera, so here are some photos of the area....

One the way up, taken at 3500 feet, looking down at the logging road, Granite Creek Valley, and a beautiful homestead on the other side....

At about 4700 feet, on the edge of a clearcut, somebody built this hunting shelter.... The pink in the foreground is fireweed, gone to seed....

Just past that, we came across a yearling Black Bear crossing the road....

Right at the end of the road, at 5300 feet, is a clearcut that has recently been replanted....

On the way back down, we were treated to this magnificent view.... The peak in the background is Mt. Coquihalla....

Just a bit later, a Mule Deer ran across the road and into the trees.... sorry about the fuzzy photo, it was taken just before she disappeared....

No photos of the Grouse today, we concentrated on the scenery.... I'm now up to 23, on day 11 of the season, and I haven't hunted every day....
