    Successful Opening Day

    Saw five, got three....

Left to right: Mature female Franklin's (Spruce) Grouse, decent size male Franklin's, and a young Ruffed Grouse.... all three headshots....

Molly did a fabulous job of retrieving.... She's still in visual mode, not using her nose, but she's starting to understand "left" and "right" so I can direct her to the bird.... She dropped all three right in my hand, no running around or shaking them, and no damage.... Talk about excited and proud of herself.... and I'm pretty proud of her too....

So- WHAT did you shoot them WITH? The suspense is killing me.
I'd say I care- but I'd probably be lying...

My 2260 HPA Carbine Grouse Gun.... in it's umpteenth version.... Still the same basic platform, 2000 psi fill, 16 shots at 20 FPE, but it now has a PRod trigger group and 8-shot clips.... I must say I REALLY like the 2-stage PRod trigger and not having to manually index the magazine any more....

When I can convince my wife to take the time.... Grouse Pot Pie.... my favourite.... She also does a "Smothered Grouse" and for the Sprucies she does Grouse Vindaloo (because they are better in a spicy dish, they can be a bit "sprucey"....
