Can any CO2 rifle run off a tethered HPA tank?

I am wondering if any CO2 rifle that takes a front loading CO2 bulb (like the 12 g bulbs used in the QB78 family) can work off a tethered and regulated 850 psi HPA tank?
Of course I'd have to add a bulk fill adapter with one way male foster, but is this doable on say a Gamo G1200?

    Sure is Duke

I run tethered all the time. Regulate your air to 850 and fit an adapter and you should not notice any great difference.

Make sure your regulator has a 1.8K burst disc in case it fails.... That will keep the pressure in the gun under 1800 psi....

Aren't CO2 molecules larger than air molecules? I tought air would leak if used to with the same valves? How about lubrication, I put a drop of oil on every CO2 powerlet before piercing it, do you do the same with air?

You will likely end up with a slightly higher velocity on 850 psi HPA than with CO2.... The seals should be fine at that pressure.... Do NOT use any oil on a gun when you are using HPA.... You should only use Silicone based lubes.... Basically you don't need to keep oiling it if you are using HPA.... and if there is a fair amount of oil in your gun you probably should take it apart and dry it out for safety....
