Hi All
Sparrows are bad this year for my purple martins. Here is two pic's of the dozen I have shot with my 2240. The one got his feathers pasted to the martin house. The other one took a pellet in his back and came out of his breast. The shooting dont seem to bother the Martins. I use Gamo master point pellets. There's also a few missed. ted

You should try some different pellets as well to see how it goes (less misses, hopefully).

No it's true- very few people get decent results with the Gamo's it seems (we are going to stop selling them, excluding the round balls)- I bet he'll have less misses with something else, whatever they may be/wherever they are purchased.

I have tried various pellets in my shooting history, like an assortment of crosman, JSB,gamo.daisy, And found the gamo master point were fairly accurate. I bought these a couple years ago, but i bought a new can lately and 90% of the skirts are deformed. Will toss these out as they are useless. Seems like quality is hard to find these days . The one thing i liked about the master point was their penetration for good kills. JSB predator worked reasonably well. Who makes a good heavy pellet these days? ted

I agree with Eric on this one....sparrows are annoying...and you should try some different pellets. JSB jumbo exact 15.8gr shoot very good in everything I own...as long as it's .22cal...can't get them to chamber in the .177 for some reason.

Measure the heads on a half dozen or so of the pellets you have....I've done this with a tin of gamo magnums with interesting (and widely varied) results. Not surprising they shoot like crap.

I agree. Bought some various H&N's (with more to come) in both .22 and .177 to try out and have been really pleased with the Field Target Trophy, very accurate in all my guns. Now to try out some heavy ones, i.e: Baracuda Hunter, Hunter Extreme and Match...
