Modifying Dan Wesson BB revolvers to fire pellets?

    Hello,

I was talking with somebody on the GTA forum chat and we got around to discussing these revolvers. The subject of adding in a rifled barrel to shoot pellets came up and we were wondering if it was possible.

Has anybody opened one of these up? I was told that the stock barrel is a brass tube. Do you know what the OD is? Is there enough room in there to put in a machined down rifled barrel, or would serious modifications be necessary?

I know the "bullets" will need to be modified as well, but right now I am just concerned with if it is even possible to do the barrel or not. No sense in getting ahead of ourselves now

Given enough time, money and ability- I think pretty much anything can be done- but it seems like quite a bit of work to convert to a pellet (or dart) shooter- so, can a better way of doing such a conversion be found?
I'd say I care- but I'd probably be lying...

From what I have read, they fire pellets quite well with the smooth barrel so all you need to do is modify the bullets to accept a pellet (or dart) without damaging the skirt.

To add in a rifled barrel, it would have to be turned down to a smaller diameter so that it would be able to fit inside (perhaps remove some material from the pistol?) then just cut to the correct length, clean up the edges/debur a bit and install.

I will be getting one and some extra bullets and a barrel to see what can be done once funds become available

Oh, there is also a power mod to crank up the fps a little bit.
