Thanks Mudbug, for both the compliment and the concern. I warned you all earlier that it wasn't a work of art!

To answer your question - No, I wasn't planning on it. Don't get me wrong, if it needs it I will make one, but it is actually very sturdy despite how the pictures look. Like Bob's fancy unit, the bottle is the fore stock, and there is no flex in it at all. Don't forget - these fittings are not the ones you find at Canadian Tire. They are alot beefier (CT,on left, - .065" wall thickness, Swagelok ones are .112", measured at the threads)

Of course, this doesn't mean that they are indestuctable - and truth be known, maybe I should have gone with S/S fittings (which I may end up doing yet) - but as long as I treat it like a gun, not an axe or sledgehammer, they should be fine. But, yes, I will try to make sure I don't smack it around too much.

On a side note, I tried a few shots today (no scope/sights, just curious about #'s), CPHP=958 fps, Polymags=927 fps.

I see what you mean.... the fittings you used look tuff as hell ! The crappy tire fittings suck and would make your gun a potential rocket launcher LOL

I want to pick up a few mor QB's for my boys and would like to do the same mod to them (hope I can find swageelok fittings in niagara area) I dont want the boy's guns to go over 495fps how would I do that ??

Honestly Mudbug, I'm not the best person to be giving advice to others as I am still learning myself! I don't want to give bad advice, or miss a key bit of info that could get you or your boys hurt (or worse). Hell, I don't even own a QB/AR yet! (that's going to be my next project - AR2078 FT) Hope you understand where I'm coming from...Hopefully Rsterne or SeanMP will chime in, as these are 2 of the best guys here in that department.

What I can do for you is provide a couple of links that will help you out immensely. Pretty much everything you need to know to reach your goal:

This one is for a 22xx, but good info as well (re: reg pressure)

Good luck, and post your results for us!

Another idea, if using a regulated bottle- reduce the output pressure as low as possible to keep it below 500fps (regulators will down to around 500psi accurately, anything lower than that gets debatable.
I'd say I care- but I'd probably be lying...
