Thread: QB79 .177 bolt is tight

    The QB bolts are usually very sticky when new.

    I take mine out and buff them a bit with some emery and crocus and then put a buff coat of moly or PTFE grease on them.

    Instantly better.

    Or rub a little lube on the areas you can see and keep working it.

    its against my better judgement to take apart a new gun but so be it....lol...should i just emery the probe?

    I waited a few weeks before tearing mine apart, but why wait - they benefit greatly from a polish, lube and re-seal.
    To do what Sean has suggested, you will need to open up the breach, but if you're careful you can reuse the factory breach seal so don't worry if you don't have a seal kit.
    Polish up the bolt, hammer, hammer spring, cocking pins. If you ever think you will install a hammer de bouncer from Archer (over priced little U shaped piece of metal supposed to increase your shot count by 30-50%) then don't polish the pin slots.
