The N-2 mount was used on several guns, and the first applications were dept. store offerings that could not be had any where else. In Canada, they were initially offered by Simpson's Sears, and then Eatons. Yes, at one time both Sears and Eaton's sold guns. The N-2 mount first appeared on the Marlin 39-A, and others quickly followed. Usual scope found in theses mounts is a Weaver B-2, or Weaver B-4...

The mount will only take a 3/4" tube scope. There's no way to get a 1" tube inside those rings...
