    Airgunners Hare's Feet

I thought you might like to see what I did with the feet from my first Snowshoe Hare....

The bell caps are made from spent CO2 cartridges, shortened appropriately, drilled to 1/8", fitted with a cotter pin, and epoxied in place.... To prepare the feet, cut off at the wrist/ankle, wash in warm soapy water (dishwashing liquid), rinse thoroughly, squeeze dry, trim the nails (I cut them back just into the quick), soak them in alcohol (denatured, 75%, or methanol, I used the latter) for at least 48 hours, completely submerged.... Remove from the alcohol, squeeze the excess back into the jar, and wash in a solution of Borax (the supplement) in warm water (1 cup per gallon).... Rinse thoroughly, set on a wire rack for good air circulation and dry thoroughly.... Once dry, dip the cut end in dry Borax and epoxy into the bell cap....

May they be luckier for you than they were for the rabbit....

Nice touch using the spent Co2 cartridge as the bell cap. Good job!

Lol...Ya, really. Didn't fair out too well for Bugs (and he had 4 of 'em!)...maybe they are only lucky once removed???
