He alse sells Lee molds already converted to drop hollowpoints.... $99.00 plus shipping.... If I was going to do that, I'd just buy the 113 gr. FN converted....

Yeah that does look nice the 113 converted to a hollow point! I need to get the stuff to start casting.. need to order lead, ladle and a thermometer. I had thought about using the stander way of hollow point do just 1 of the 2.. Then cast both at the same time. I figure different pins could give different weights, so if the bullet shoots well could vary the weight a bunch.

Bob I bet you could do the mod your self with your mad skills!

The .257 molds I had converted I got his standard single pin conversion and do just that.... drop one solid and one hollowpoint each time.... I got 3 pins per mold, but they don't change the weight very much, just a grain or two.... They are supposed to expand differently (ie at different velocities) but he recommends the one he thinks is best for airguns (low velocity).... Erik is a great guy to deal with, excellent communications and service....

I was contenplating using either http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...l-Machine-Shop or using the 4 jaw that fits the conover wood lathe and use the tail stock to drill the holes.

I like the idea of perfectly centering the bullet in a 4 jaw and using the lathe to drill it.

I found some interesting info on this site From http://www.titanreloading.com/ballis...ients-on-molds not sure how accurate it would be for subsonic use.

    C309-113-F - .199
    C309-120-R - .163

I found it interesting how the 120grain round nose has less a BC than the 113 flat nose bullet.

Yeah, it makes you wonder, doesn't it?.... I have both those molds, and other than the flat nose, they look identical.... When cast in pure lead they are within 1 gr. in weight, too....

    Pics as promised.

    This is the new bolt/handle

    DSC_7732.jpg

Distance was a hair under 40 yards.

This was the sight in with the 68 grain Mr Hollow Points. First group was lowest Right. Second group was after adjusting part way to ensure was moving the correct way.... Third was final adjustment after calculating clicks.

This was a few differnet Castings. The 133 were far left 2 shots.

The good group was 120's I think t was... not sure if the other group was 102's ... Sean might remember. Heck I don't remember what was what... lol pretty sure the 120s did well.

    I shot 2 shots tonight..

Filled a 2l bottle with water

Figured I would try 2 shots with the 68 grain hollow points at 40 yards Once high and one through the center..

The first shot I hit about 1/3 down the bottle as planned and darn did it hit hard... only bad thing is it wasted most of the water :( It sounded like a hammer! I figured what the heck and put one through the cap to test my zero was on and it was :) The second shot even though not much water left sure shredded the bottle.
