Gamo Hunter SuperSport .177 or Benji Trail xl -1100 .22 as first rifle ????

I have a choice to buy 1 of 2 used rifles from a friend of mine and was wondering which is a better choice ..
I tried both and I prefer the light weight of the Gamo but also like the the Benji because its a .22.....


The Gamo Hunter SuperSport SAT .177 Caliber Air Rifle has a BSA 9x40 aftermarket scope
and the Benji is bone stock

The Benjamin also would have come with a scope when new.

In any event- one thing to consider is parts availability- Crosman (Benjamin) will typically have parts available for years after a gun is discontinued and available from a couple Canadian dealers- Gamo, not so much.
