Just sort of an "FYI" as I seem to be the last store in the world with 2289s still on the shelf- only two left and then they're gone:

I'd almost like to buy another to keep as a backup, i dunno if that's the best use of my money though. Great gun and I really enjoyed building mine.
these are great units...if i wasn't too lazy to pump id get one (i had one before)
none the less AWESOME!!
Every airgunner should have one of these in their collection. Fun, accurate, and versatile enough to use indoors and out.
Get 'em while you can...
Ditto Scottster -
They're a decent take down that's good for plinking. It's a shame Crosman discontinued them. Given the platform and the barrel, they're a nice start point for custom jobs too - cheap .22 and no need to carry around gas. Well, more than I usually carry around anyway. :devilish:
The bonus is that with the "new" 1322C with black grips, a 2289 can be "constructed" out of parts- the problem being that instead of $100.00 gun already done, it becomes a $105.00 pile of parts (1322, removable stock, stock retention pin/spring, 14" barrel) and some work to do (i.e. drilling the 1322 barrel band through and having the sight blade 4" too far back, or, getting a fiber optic unit ($3.50 more) and filing the sight blade off the stock band completely). The end result would be a black unit that has the smaller-style 1322 pump arm, not the thicker/wider 1389/2289 type.
Hi Eric. Are the 2289's gone now? I have one, but after a friend saw mine. he wanted one. Thanks. :huh:
They are, unfortunately, all gone now.
Your friend could make one up out of parts for near the same price;
1322c pistol
14" barrel
removable stock
2289 barrel band
fibre-optic front sight
Only difference would be the pump arm is smaller than what was on the 2289s. Total for all the above items is $108.98 - as in $9.00 higher than a 2289 cost (plus tax/shipping)- but then someone has to do some work...
